Entry-Level AccountantPosition Type: Entry-Level Accountant Pay: $22.00/HR Location: Galveston, TX Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PMKey ResponsibilitiesProcess accounts payable invoices and vendor payments. Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, account coding, and supporting documentation. Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation. Enter invoices, payments, cash receipts, and other financial transactions into the accounting system. Assist with maintaining the general ledger and reviewing account activity. Prepare basic journal entries and supporting documentation. Assist with monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations. Research and help resolve account discrepancies. Assist with tracking grant expenditures, reimbursements, available balances, and funding deadlines. Maintain supporting documentation for federal, state, local, and other grant-funded programs. Help ensure grant expenses are properly coded to the correct program, project, property, or funding source. Assist with preparing grant reimbursement requests and financial reports. Maintain organized accounting records for audits, monitoring reviews, and grant compliance. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year-end closing activities. Prepare schedules, reports, and supporting documents requested by management or auditors. Assist with monitoring departmental budgets and comparing actual expenditures to approved budgets. Maintain vendor records, including W-9 forms and other required documentation. Respond professionally to questions from vendors, employees, and internal departments. Follow the client's accounting policies, procurement requirements, internal controls, and confidentiality standards.
